Letter from Reception Staff w/c 13th July

Date: 10th Jul 2020 @ 5:14pm

Dear Parents/Carers.

We hope you are all well and safe and wish you all a happy summer.

We will be uploading new activities for you to do with your child on Tapestry using the memo section on Monday.

This week in Literacy we will be learning about ‘The rainbow fish.’ There is a power point of the story attached to the memo.

There is also a worksheet about your favourite memories of the year which might be nice for you to complete as the end of the school year approaches.

In Maths we are going to be working out some different challenges.

In art we will draw or use collage to decorate the rainbow fish.

In science there are 2 experiments for you to do.

White Rose Maths

If you need some maths work to do over the summer then have a look at White Rose Maths. Each week worksheets are uploaded on to our school website for you to access.  This week, however, they have launched ‘child and parent’ booklets.  These booklets follow the methods and strategies that are being used in school to help children understand and enjoy maths.  The booklets are completely free and can be downloaded either to a kindle from Amazon or from their web page https://whiterosemaths.com/resources/primary-resources/parent-workbooks/

Phonics

We hope you managed to access the phonics on you tube called ‘Letters and sounds at home and school.’

The BBC bitesize phonics is fun and also really useful.

I have also been using https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/  which has free games and is fun, and also   https://www.phonicsbloom.com/  which has some free games.

I will also attach some phase 3 worksheets for you to do.

We look forward to seeing all the fantastic work you do and remember to email us if you need any further help or advice. If you need any work printing out if you ring the school or email us we can arrange for it to be printed and collected.

If your child does good work at home if you email a picture to school it will be put onto a newsletter and shared with the whole school.

These are the class emails for RL and RM.
