Resilience Assembly with Huddersfield Town's Danny Ward

On Tuesday 31st January 2023, Huddersfield Town striker, Danny Ward visited Moldgreen to deliver an assembly to the whole school all about resilience. The children listened to Danny and learned all about how important it is to stay mentally strong throughout any task and adversity, and found it very interesting to hear how Danny was using resilience in his own example of being injured and unable to play football, but still remaining positive and upbeat. After the talk, the children were given the unique opportunity to ask Danny their questions, and it was great for them to get an insight into what life is like as a professional footballer.

Remembrance Service at Aden Court Care Home
On Wednesday November 21st 2018, some Year 5 and 6 pupils attended a Remembrance service at Aden Court Care Home. The children joined members of the United Reformed Church, Moldgreen, to sing hymns and listen to mark of respect prayers.

In school, the children had written Remembrance poems during English lessons and were invited to read them to the residents. When the residents heard their poems, they said that it brought back some heartfelt memories to them.

The children did an incredible job reading the poems out loud on such an emotional occasion.

Well done – Ella, Tobi, Makada and Olivia.
