Letter from Reception staff w/c 11th May

Date: 7th May 2020 @ 4:10pm

Dear Parents/Carers.

It has been great to see what you have been doing on Tapestry and your lovely comments about the staff video.

We will be uploading new activities for you to do with your child on Tapestry using the memo section on Monday.

This week in Literacy we will be learning about ‘Beans on Toast’. It is an information book which tells us how beans get from the field to our plates. You can watch it on you tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99FEA6ecmCU

The children will make beans on toast and then write instructions on how to make them.

In Maths this week we are learning about number bonds. This means we will look at how many different ways we can make 10 e.g. 1+9=10/2+8=10 etc. For more details and worksheets see memos on Tapestry. If you are having trouble accessing Tapestry –please contact us for help.

In ICT we will be drawing a flower on the computer with roots/stem/petals/leaves and labelling it.

Letter Join

Don’t forget-we as a school subscribe to this website to enable your child to practise making patterns and letters. This can be accessed using a tablet. https://www.letterjoin.co.uk/

Phonics

We hope you managed to access the phonics on you tube called ‘Letters and sounds at home and school.’

The BBC bitesize phonics is fun and also really useful.

I have also been using https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/  which has free games and is fun, and also   https://www.phonicsbloom.com/  which has some free games. My grandson Albie loves both these websites so why not give them a go.

Please use the email below if you would like any support or are having problems with Tapestry.

We look forward to seeing all the fantastic work you do and remember to email us if you need any further help or advice. If you need any work printing out if you ring the school or email us we can arrange for it to be printed and collected.

If your child does good work at home if you email a picture to school it will be put onto a newsletter and shared with the whole school.

These are the class emails for RL and RM.
