We are celebrating our town next week in school. Huddersfield has amazing buildings, heritage and lots to teach the children. Each year group will visit diffferent locations to learn more about our local area.
Year 1 will look around our school, looking at buildings and how the ring road links the school to the town centre.
Year 2 will learn more about the local area of Moldgreen and how buildings vary from houses, places of worship, garages and shops and take aways.
Year 3 are completing the Heritage Trail
Year 4 will walk the Historic Trail
Year 5 will look at how Huddersfield become famous for our woolen cloth by walking the Textile Trail
Year 6 will learn about The Ramsden family who much of Huddersfield was named after. Ramsden Trail
Pupils will hopefully gain more knowledge of the town where we live and gain some important historical facts.

It has been lovely to see all our pupils return to school today. We held an assembly to talk through the new year expectations, safeguarding procedures and introduce new staff. Please make sure any uniform is clearly labelled with your child's name.

SEND Surgeries at Moldgreen Community Primary School
To support parents and families in accessing timely and appropriate support and information related to concerns around SEND, Mrs. Tariq (SENCo), holds half termly SEND surgeries. These are set up similarly to the booking system for parents evening. Parents and carers will be welcome to book onto a timed slot (15 minutes) through the School Spider to discuss concerns related to their child’s SEND need or presenting need.
We hope the SEND surgeries will support parents with signposting to services, accessing early intervention, understanding need and how to support children at home or in school.
The SEND surgeries are open to parents of children with SEND and parents of children who have no diagnosed need but would like to be better informed about services.
New dates for the Autumn term will be sent out via the newsletter.

A huge thanks to KAL who delivered a water safety assembly to Years 1-6. There is lots of open water around the local area and pupils were told about the dangers.
