Canal and Firth Street walk

Start: 18th Mar 2021 9:45am

Year 4 children spent a wonderful 2 hours out of class yesterday, walking around the local area. They visited Aspley Wharf and looked at and counted all the barges. They walked really sensibly along the canal towpath looking at old mill buildings, the university, canal bridges, locks and cranes. They even saw a squirrel and a fox! They walked back along Firth Street and looked really closely at the buildings and stood at the bottom of a stone chimney and looked right to the top! Lots of sore feet and tired legs at the end. Enough energy left to eat a biscuit and go out to play though!
