Lunchtimes and a Typical School Day

Lunchtime Arrangements

All children may choose to have a school dinner.  Lunches are prepared on site, we offer a varied menu including Halal and vegetarian options.  Children are regularly involved with choosing what appears on the menu and their opinions on new meals are sought.  From September 2017 dinners cost £2.12 per day, £10.60 a week. From 1st September 2014, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal free school dinner.

If possible we would ask for half a terms notice if your child wishes to start on school dinners. or wishes to change from school dinners to packed lunches, or vice versa.

The school's dining room is separate to the main hall.  When the weather is nice the children in key stage two are invited to take their sandwiches to the field and have a picnic.  Children who have school dinners may also go to the field at lunchtime and they are escorted back earlier to have their lunch.

If you provide your child with a packed lunch we ask that you do not include any glass bottles, hot liquids or sweets.
